A website for tradies that does one job: gets the phone ringing.

You don't need a fancy site. You need one that loads fast on a phone, shows your real work, says which suburbs you cover, and makes it dead easy to ring or send a job through. Below is what that takes, what you can skip, and what it should cost. Fixed price, and the site is yours outright.

WHERE THE WORK COMES FROM

Even referrals
look you up first.

A customer gets your name from their neighbour. Before they ring, they type it into Google. What they find in the next ten seconds decides whether they call you or the next name they were given.

If they find a Facebook page last posted in 2023, a broken link, or nothing at all, you've lost a job you'd already half-won. If they find a clean page with your recent work, the suburbs you cover and a button that rings you, they call.

The other half is people who've never heard of you. They search "bricklayer Penrith" or "plumber near me" on a phone. Google leans heavily on your Google Business Profile and on a website that clearly says what you do and where. A site is what that profile points to, and what Google reads to work out whether you're a match.

A two-minute self-test

Do this on your phone, not your computer, because that's where your customers are:

  1. Search your business name. Does your own site come up first, or a directory listing?
  2. Search your trade plus your main suburb. Are you anywhere on the first screen?
  3. Open your site, if you have one. Can you ring yourself with one tap in under five seconds?
  4. Is there a photo of a job you did in the last six months?

Four yeses and you're probably fine: spend your money elsewhere. Two or more noes and you're leaking work you never see.

WHAT A TRADIE SITE NEEDS

The must-haves.
Use this list with anyone.

Whoever builds your site, including you on a weekend, check it against this. None of it is fancy. All of it matters more than the design.

  • A tap-to-call button and a short job form, visible without scrolling on a phone
  • What you do, in the words customers search, on the first screen
  • The suburbs or areas you actually cover, written out
  • Photos of your own jobs, not stock pictures of someone else's
  • Your licence number and the licensee or business name, where your trade needs one
  • Loads fast on mobile data, not just on the office wi-fi
  • Linked to your Google Business Profile, with a sitemap and Search Console set up
  • Domain registered in your name, so you own it if you change builders

On the licence point: in NSW, building trade advertising, including on the internet, must show the licensee's name (or registered business name) and licence number for the right category of work. NSW Government guidance on building trade advertisements has the detail. Showing it also tells a nervous customer you're legit.

What you can skip

  • A blog you'll never write. An empty news page from two years ago looks worse than none.
  • Twenty pages. Five good ones beat twenty thin ones. Home, services, about, work and contact covers most trades.
  • Sliders, videos that autoplay, and pop-ups. They slow the page on a phone and get in the way of the call button.
  • A pile of plugins. Every one is something to update and something that can break.
HOW OUR BUILD WORKS

One email in.
A site you own out.

STEP 1

You send one email

What you do, where you work, and a link to your Instagram, Facebook or old site if you have one. No sales call. We reply within two business days with a fixed price.

STEP 2

We build from your real work

Five pages, mobile first, written in plain words and built from your own job photos. No page builder, no plugins.

STEP 3

You check a private preview

You get a private link to look at on your phone. Nothing goes live until you say so.

STEP 4

It goes live and gets found

We set up the local search side: Google Business Profile link, structured data, sitemap and Search Console. Then 30 days of changes are included.

ENQUIRIES WHILE YOU WORK

A reply is drafted.
You decide if it goes.

When someone fills in the job form, a reply is drafted for you straight away and held until you tap to approve it. Nothing is sent in your name without you. It just means you're answering from the ute in a few seconds instead of writing it out at 9pm.

  • Every enquiry lands with a ready-to-send reply
  • Nothing goes out until you approve it
  • Most sites live within two weeks of receiving your content
  • Code handed over, hosting charged at cost
  • Fixed price agreed before anything starts
A WORKED EXAMPLE

Thorr Masonry:
22 years on the tools, no site.

Thorr Masonry are Sydney brick and blocklayers. They'd been on the tools for 22 years and their whole online presence was an Instagram account. Good work, no website.

We built their site from their own posts. Every project on it is a job they actually did, so a customer who looks them up sees real brickwork, not a template. They're a paying client and we host the site for them.

That's the point for most tradies: you've already got the material. It's sitting in your camera roll and your social accounts. The job is turning it into a fast page that answers a customer's questions and gives them a button to ring you.

WHAT IT COSTS

a tradie website.

Which one is right?

Your diary is full from referrals: a simple, cheap site is plenty, or keep doing what you're doing. We'll tell you that if it's true.

You've got a site but nobody finds it: don't rebuild yet. A Site Rescue (from A$490) works out why first. If a rebuild is the honest answer, the audit comes off the price.

You've got no site, or one that embarrasses you: that's what the Website Build is for.

Questions to ask any builder

  • Is the domain registered in my name?
  • If I leave, do I get the site, or does it disappear?
  • What will I pay each month after launch, all in?
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include GST?
WHEN THE PHONE DOES RING

A site brings calls.
Someone has to answer.

If a better site means more calls you can't take on the job, our AI receptionist for tradies answers them, books only inside rules you set, and texts you the transcript. Start with the website. Add the phone side if you need it.

QUESTIONS TRADIES ASK

Straight answers.

Do I need a website if I already get work from word of mouth?

Maybe not. If your diary is full from referrals and repeat customers, a website is a nice-to-have. But most people who get your name from a mate still look you up before they ring. If all they find is a Facebook page or nothing at all, some of them ring someone else. A simple site is there to win that check.

How much does a website for a tradie cost?

Our Website Build is from A$1,490 for five pages, fixed price, with the domain in your name and the code handed over. Hosting is passed on at cost. Across the Australian market, one independent cost guide puts most professionally designed small business sites at A$2,000 to A$6,000, plus ongoing hosting and care-plan fees.

I don't have good photos. Can you still build it?

Usually, yes. Most tradies have more than they think in their phone and on Instagram or Facebook. We built the Thorr Masonry site entirely from their own Instagram posts. We use your real jobs, not stock photos of someone else's work.

Will I be locked into a monthly contract?

No. The build is a one-off fixed price. The domain is registered in your name, the code is handed over, and hosting is charged at cost. If you want to move it somewhere else later, you can.

How long does it take?

Most sites are live within two weeks of us receiving your content. You see a private preview link first, and nothing goes live until you approve it. You get 30 days of changes after launch.

START A PROJECT

Tell us about your trade.

One email: what you do, the areas you cover, and a link to your Instagram, Facebook or current site. Fixed price back within two business days.

No obligation. If you don't need a website, or a cheaper option would do, we'll say so.
